This weekend, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will head to Talladega Superspeedway for the second race of the Round of 8 in the playoffs. While some drivers will be fighting for their spot in the Championship 4, others will be looking for a chance to win at the 2.66-mile track. Among them are two fulltime NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers who have entered the Truck race for different teams: Chandler Smith and Brett Moffitt.

Chandler Smith

Chandler Smith, who drives the No. 27 Solid Rock Carriers Chevrolet for Rackley W.A.R. in the Xfinity Series, will make his Truck Series debut at Talladega. He will pilot the No. 21 Bennett Transportation Chevrolet for GMS Racing, a team he has previously raced for in the ARCA Menards Series. Smith, who is currently 10th in the Xfinity Series standings, said he is excited to race at Talladega for the first time.

“I’m really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the No. 21 Bennett Transportation Chevrolet this weekend at Talladega,” Smith said. “I’ve never raced there before, so it will be a new challenge for me. I’m thankful to GMS Racing and Bennett Transportation for giving me this opportunity and I hope to make the most of it.”

Brett Moffitt

Brett Moffitt, who drives the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet for Our Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, will return to the Truck Series at Talladega. He will drive the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford, a team he has competed for in both the Cup and Xfinity Series. Moffitt, who is a former Truck Series champion and a two-time winner at Talladega, said he is eager to get back to his roots and contend for another victory.

“I’m really happy to be back in a truck this weekend at Talladega,” Moffitt said. “I’ve had a lot of success there in the past and I know Front Row Motorsports has fast trucks. I’m grateful to Whelen and FRM for making this happen and I can’t wait to go out there and try to win another one.”

The Truck Series race at Talladega will be a thrilling event that will feature some familiar faces from the Xfinity Series. Chandler Smith and Brett Moffitt are two drivers who have proven themselves in both series and will be looking to add another trophy to their collection. The race will take place on Saturday, October 1st at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on FS1.
